Regional Focus

Regional focus of the matchmaking is on the Canadian province of Québec and the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Both regions are important industrial locations and dynamic economic centers. Québec is the largest province in Canada. Important industrial sectors are the chemical industry, the paper and wood industry, information technology  and hydroelectric power generation.

With 11 million inhabitants, Baden-Württemberg is Germany's third-largest state and an important location for the technology sectors of vehicle manufacturing, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. In addition to well-known industrial giants such as Daimler, Bosch and SAP, Baden-Württemberg is home to numerous innovative small and medium-sized companies.

The CETA economic and trade agreement between the European Union and Canada, which partially entered into force in 2017, implemented far-reaching trade and customs facilitation measures that also benefit companies from Québec and Baden-Württemberg.
